Rathdrum City Park - Family Fun

Rathdrum, just 14 miles northwest of Coeur d’Alene is a great little town and they have a wonderful city park. While visiting family we took our children to the park to get some of their energy out and found the park to be not only fun, but really pretty. The Rathdrum City Park is located on Hwy. 53 at Latah Rd. near the downtown area and is right next door to a feed store. The feed store actually gave us something else to do after the park. We went in and perused their aisles looking for a leash for our dog and looked at all their baby chicks and ducks. They even had a few rabbits there also.
A stream runs through Rathdrum City Park. A picnic area is available for use and can be reserved at Rathdrum City Park.

The city park has a stream running through it that is used for the fishing derby each year. The water actually runs pretty fast through it, and there is a bridge that goes over it to give you access to the other side of the park. The park is equipped with a great play structure that includes swings, climbing ropes and slides. There is also a covered picnic area with barbeques and a gazebo that can be used for everyday use or reserved for larger events. There are plenty of trees in the park that offer shade and the landscaping is really nicely done, with several different types of flowers and trees all over the park.

The Rathdrum City Park is host to many events throughout the year including the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, luncheons, town barbeques, and the annual summer concert series. The concert series starts at 6 pm every Friday night from June through August and is a really good time. There is plenty of grass at the park to plant your blanket and chairs on for the concerts or for a picnic with the family. Come to the park to just enjoy some peace and quiet and a book on a nice summer day.

An Idaho Plaque telling a little bit about Rathdrum sits at the park. The first fire bell ever used in Rathdrum is at the City Park.
