Nostalgic Holiday Carriage Rides - Downtown Coeur d’Alene Idaho

Coeur d Alene rooftops will soon be blanketed with snow, and ricocheting the sun’s rays to the snowflake encrusted sidewalks, and bounce back again to dance upon the icy lake. The spirit of Christmas has officially been welcomed into our small town bringing the spirit of non-stop shopping with it. This time of year can get extremely hectic, and yet, it is still such an elegant time of the seasons. Imagine a relaxing, authentic carriage ride around the streets of downtown Coeur d’ Alene; a chance to admire the beauty of Christmas and enjoy the company of family, friends, or your sweetheart.
Luckily, the owner of Percival Carriages, and horse carriage-driver is my father-in-law, and I had a chance to take a peaceful carriage ride out in Wolf Lodge. It was literally soothing enough to put a four month old to sleep. Apparently, the locals and tourists have had enjoyed the rides as much as I have, because I hear some days the lines can get rather long.
Spokane Teacher’s Credit Union co-sponsored with the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association are offering another year of free holiday carriage rides. A perfect excuse to celebrate the days of relaxation. This year the rides are offered from November 22 through December 21. The carriage departs from First Street and Sherman Avenue from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays only.
